Something NEW...fun technique

I wanted to show you a card that I learned about from a class over at Jessica Sprague. The class was computer tricks for cards - well this image is a brush image by Lizzabeth, I printed it out on paper and transferred it to material using a product called gel medium - this was new to me but you can read about the product here It might sound like a lot of work but it was really fun to do - the medium is like glue - you paint some onto fabric, print your image and lay it face down on the fabric - leave it overnight, wet the fabric and rub off the paper then you can use this on a card to give it a real vintage feel.
I printed off some paper from Studio Gypsy Shrine Set to punch the circles out of - I also created the embellishment at the bottom, used some Tim Holtz distress ink to stamp the back of the fabric for some show through framed it up with some kraft paper and onto some brown bazzill card stock!
Lots of steps but well worth the effort for a unique looking card ...the possibilities are endless!
Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by!

Day 124 ~ shades of purple

This week at 365 cards the challenges have all been about colour ~ today is all about the colour purple!  I love purple - 3 shades of purple are required.

I coloured the digi image - I do not recall who owns this image, the file is AKVBD Party - if anyone knows please let me know so I can add it to the file name - it is very cute.  The paper is Basic Grey Kioshi and the card stock is Bazzill.  The little tab is a quickcutz die.
That's it for me ~ so glad it is Friday ~ have a fabby weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Hybrid Card Challenge: Explode out of your head!!!

This card was made for a hybrid card challenge at Jessica Sprague - as I write this I'm thinking I really shouldn't be making cards since I was learning digital so I could work with my photos...ok so I took a detour and I'm onto cards..little steps, small cards - then bigger layouts right?!  OK...The entire top layer of this card is digital - All of the supplies with the exception of the image the girl is sitting on - are from my favourite creator Lisa aka Studio Gypsy
The digi images are a combo of Box SocietyBoho Baby and Spunky Explosion
I started with a template from Day 3 of my class at JS and moved things around a bit - we had to add our own, I used some bling on the scrolls, some diamond glaze on the black rose on her blouse and made the ribbon flower - that was also part of lesson 3 at JS.
Thanks for stopping by - hope you liked the card!

Computer Tricks for Cards

HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!!!

Here are a few pics of what I've been upto lately...over at Jessica Sprague learning how to make hybrid cards - using digital images mixed with traditional scrapbooking...fun, so much fun!  Now some of you know I started taking a "go at your own pace" class at JS, I finished the course and signed up for a new one.  A few weeks back JS had a 3 year birthday celebration and offered this course for FREE!  We are on day 4 but it has been so much fun ~ not the kind of fun where you end up laughing 'til you spit your water out of your nose!  Just fun to learn something different and interesting.
Here are some of the card pics from Day 2, Day 3 and Day 4:

Day 3 is a really cool pop up card, inside the card is a row of trees - the possibilities are endless.   You can check out all the cards in the gallery at Jessica Sprague - if you are interested there is a gallery of Hybrid projects, not just cards.  Hope you had a great Canada Day and thanks for stopping by!
