Super Sketchy Olympic Sunday!!!!Way to go Canada!!!

Today is day 365 at 365 Cards; that means that Pam and her fabbie DT have been creating a card a day for the last year! THANK YOU PAM!  What an accomplishment! Two ladies have somehow managed to create a card each day ~ I dunno how but hats off to Rose & Linda (they'll have to share gold).  Tomorrow will start the first day of year 2 @ 365 Cards - I encourage you to play along whenever you can ~ you will be amazed at what you will learn and inspired by fellow cardmakers who join in!
Today ends year one @ 365 and today is the end of the
Vancouver 2010 Olympics!
I have used todays sketch to make a card that has an Olympic theme - it will likely go into my scrapbook, along with a ticket stub and some pictures from around town - what a memorable time!
The card stock is all pretty much Bazzil and the idea for the Inukshuk came from Karen at PE, my local LSS - using the coffee cup quick cutz die. You can chek out PE from the link at the side of my blog.

Simple Doodles Cards ~ Digi Images: Fun & Easy to use

Here are two cards using paper piecing.  I used images from Simple Doodles - the little bird with the heart - Tweetheart - is so adorable...I don't have the greatest cutting skills and managed to cut her little feet off not once but twice!...3rd time is a charm and here she is popped off the card feet and all! The saying is also from Simple Doodles - I used paper from my stash for this card - the base is bazzil cardstock, I also embossed a strip of pink using swiss dots.

I really like my second paper piecing card - I used the cake without the candles.  The base is bazzil cardstock, next layer embossed with swiss dots, top layer is scored and embossed with happy birthday folder For the cake again I used paper from my stash - I coloured the cake plate and hearts with silver smooch, added some pearls to the cake plate and finished it off with a silver ribbon!  Simple Doodles has a fun challenge going on right now - it's all about paper piecing ~ they have quite a few free digital images however you can use what ever digitial image you have....give it a try, do something different and have fun!

Enjoy your Sunday ~ Thanks for stopping by!

Day 357 Sketch

Following Vicky's sketch at 365 cards for this challenge.  I am trying to use peel-offs placed on water colour paper - the entire black image is a peel off - then using gelly roll pens, water and a paint brush creating the colour in the white space - I own copic markers but I tell you I can't quite grasp the placement of shadows - I certainly need more practice....The base of this card is bazill card stock, some metallic paper and the pink is this really cool velvet paper that my lss had, this colour is called bubble gum. So here is the sketch and here is my card - .....thanks for stopping by!

28 Year Anniversary - Day 356

Another sketch at 365 Cards and keeping in true 365 fashion - it is another GREAT sketch....don't know how they come up with something day after day but the do!

I've used todays sketch for an anniversary card for my DH...28 years - I can hardly believe it!  Lucky me ~ I found the perfect (make that as close to perfect as they come) soul mate! I used Basic Grey sugar rush - gummy bears for the patterned paper - some diamond glaze to accent "you" and some ribbon  - I was trying to steer away from it being so girly and hope that the orange colour does the trick!
Going to check out some more Olympic festivities tomorrow - enjoy your weekend & thanks for stopping by!

DAY 355 - Amys Sketch

Sketch week at 365 Cards every day is a new DT sketch - today is Thursday and the first night I've had a chance to play along.  The sketches have all been great so I plan to try making some cards later..too many Olympic festivities happening....Go Canada Go!   AND by the way 365 Cards will end up with day 365 on the closing day of the Olympics - Feb 28th; I don't think Pam planned it that way but hey it's kind of cool!  Back to the card - here is the sketch we need to follow - belongs to Amy - she has an awesome blog  - check it out!

And here is my card - I don't know what the card base it - the white is bazil card stock that has been embossed with swiss dots. The bird is a peel off fun product to use.  I coloured the bird with Sakura gelly roll pens, paint brush and water and added some black floss between the circles and criss crossed on the white.  ....Spring is in the air....Have a great Friday - Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Valentines Day.....

Here is a card for two challenges, Day 350 at 365 Cards - Create at least 3 stacks of different items on your card.  The other challenge is Simple Doodles - Add some background.

The bear on my card is a freebie from Simple Doodles - isn't it cute?!  I printed it off on some craft card stock.  I learned a new colouring technique which I used to colour in the heart - maybe this has been around for a while but it is new to me and I plan to use it again. Sakura Gelly Roll pens are water based so using a gelly roll pen and a small paint brush put a dab of ink on to your image and "drag" the ink around with a small wet paint brush. Day 350 challenge required stacks...so I stacked my paper - it is from my stash (I think it is Dream Street Papers) and I have a few layers, a little stack of brads and a BIG stack of chipboard hearts!
Some of the hearts I covered in matching paper and inked the edges....hmmm wonder who will get this card tomorrow!

Thanks for stopping by!  GO CANADA GO....

Day 342...That's Familiar

Well I had lots of fun making this card! This card is for a challenge at
365 Cards ~ Day 342...
The challenge was to use a stamp on the front and then use part of the image on the inside.  I used this great digi stamp from Dawn Moore at Lost in Paper Scraps The image is called Cake Girl and it was a free image on Dawns site. I used copic markers to colour her, I used a clear glitter pen for some sparkle around her eyes and a big sparkley white smile.  I used diamond glaze on top of the cake. The background pattern paper is from Pebbles Lil'Miss Collection - the paper is really cute.  Onto the inside I cut the cake only - pop dotted it off of the embossed cake plate - added embossed happy birthday from cuttlebug folders and a bit more paper.  She is ready to be popped in the mail on Monday morning to bring someone special birthday greetings!

Day 343 Hmmm Interacting Images....Interesting!!!

So today is all about "Interacting Images" .... @ 365 Cards the challenge is to take two different images and get them to work together.

I have this cute little Diva stamp from Stamping Bella and I've matched it up with the Ooh La La stamp from Imaginisce - My card base is kraft card stock and then I have a layer from Making Memories (heart something or other), the image is stamped on the flip side of the patterned paper and framed with some red bazzil card stock - I added some clear spica glitter to her shoes and a couple of red pearls to finish the card.
I hope you are having a great weekend ~ thanks for stopping by!

Corry & Donna ...checking out the blog??

Went to a wonderful scrapbook class this evening with two of my friends Corry & Donna ~ had a fun conversation on the way home, I'm still laughing...and well since we were driving, lets call it a road trip and I won't repeat any of it!
I don't have anything to post, finished up the book we made tonight, put in the tabs and added some finishing touches - I will post it at the end of the month since I don't want to spoil any surprises.....

So Donna & Corry - see....I didn't come home and make a card or work much on anything ~ I tried, I stared at my desk and admired my paper.....but that was all I did!
Check back on Sunday.....have a fabbie weekend ~ Thanks for stopping by!
